Getting Around Town

Orlando's major north/south highway is Interstate 4 or I-4, which runs diagonally across the state from Daytona Beach to Tampa. From I-4 you can exit to Walt Disney World (Exit 25 - U.S. 192), Church Street Station, Lake Buena Vista, downtown Orlando, SeaWorld, International Drive (Exit 29), and Universal Studios (Exit 30). Most written directions given on Orlandohotels.com begin at the interchange of I-4 and U.S. 192.

Intersecting I-4 are four main east/west highways. (A) U.S. 192 passes near the Walt Disney World entrance road, crosses I-4, and travels east through Kissimmee and St. Cloud. This is a major area for lodging and attractions since it lies closer to the Disney parks that downtown Orlando. (B) The Florida Turnpike (toll) also crosses I-4, providing access to I-75 to the west and Miami to the southeast. (C) The East/West Expressway (Fla. 408) toll branches off of the Florida Turnpike just west of Orlando, crosses I-4 and passes through downtown Orlando. (D) The Beeline Expressway (Fla. 528) toll begins at I-4 goes east past Orlando International Airport to Cape Canaveral and Cocoa Beach.
